Adoptions

Spotlight: Belle!

Belle is a young tuxedo cat that has gone months and months with no adopter interest, despite her sassy and adorable personality!

Belle is under 2 years old with a lot of life to live and love to give! She is shy at first, but once you earn her trust, she will slink around and meow at you for attention! She also loves to bat toys around and play with your hand if you scratch her belly! She is litter-trained and loves using scratching posts and climbing on her kitty trees. She is a very active, playful, sassy cat with a big personality if you give her the time to show you!

Adoption Process

The cat rescue of Sweet Peace is a low-volume, individual-focused program that primarily serves stray cats, special needs cats, and urgent owner surrenders. The program harbors just a few cats at a time, or sometimes even just one cat depending on individual needs. Every cat is welcome to stay at the sanctuary as long as they need before a suitable home is found. There is no stress or urgency to get cats out the door, so we have a commitment to 100% patience and honesty with adopters.

When not in medical recovery, cats are kept in a cage-free and comforting setting reminiscent of a home: with ample space to climb, hide, relax, and play at their will. This is different from what adoptive cats experience at other rescues and shelters that keep them isolated in cages. In our free-roam cat room, cats experience low-stress conditions, allowing them to feel comfortable enough to show their true personalities and unique needs. We get to know the cats on a personal level, and can provide you with in-depth personality traits that make for the best match-making with your family!

If you are interested in adopting a cat, please see the adoption process below:

1.) Submit application

Submit an application for a cat here.

Please let your vet know we will be calling for a standard vet history check. Any questions may be directed to hello@sweetpeacesanctuary.org

2.) Respond to follow-up

You will receive an email to discuss the information on your application. After we've touched base with you, we will let you know when you are approved.

3.) Set appointment time

After approval, we can work with your schedule and set a time for you to visit the sanctuary and meet the cats. We offer great flexibility for our great adopters!

4.) Come meet your new friend!

After setting up an appointment, please remember to arrive promptly on time. If not, you may have to wait while we attend other time-dependent care needs at the sanctuary. If all goes well, you may bring your friend home that day!
